We are excited to announce the official launch of the PIPE Platform – the outreach platform of the Programme of Inclusion for Migrant People at Risk of Social Exclusion (PIPE), a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
This new online space is designed to support the integration, empowerment, and education of migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers, offering a wide range of resources for educators, volunteers, professionals, and institutions committed to building a more inclusive and cohesive society.
What is the PIPE Project?
PIPE is a transnational initiative that promotes inclusion through education and training tailored to the needs of migrant populations. By enhancing key skills and offering tools for cultural and linguistic integration, the project aims to foster social cohesion and mutual understanding in host countries across Europe.
Through PIPE, migrants can access:
- Training modules, including smartphone-compatible content
- Accreditation opportunities through Europass or Microcredentials
- Collaborative support from public agencies, NGOs, and local communities
PIPE seeks to address some of today’s most pressing social, technological, and economic challenges, all while promoting values of diversity, respect, and opportunity.
What You’ll Find on the PIPE Platform
The PIPE Platform acts as a gateway to the project’s core resources, offering practical and user-friendly content across three main pillars:
Language
A comprehensive guide for teaching national languages to migrants, created for use by educators and volunteers, including those without formal teaching experience. The guide fosters both language acquisition and intercultural communication, promoting stronger, more inclusive communities.
Culture
An informative cultural guide and action plan, supporting professionals who work with migrants in developing cultural awareness and competence. This section also provides insights into the host country’s geography, history, politics, and traditions, helping newcomers better understand their new environment.
Diversity
A strategic plan for diversity education, aimed at institutions, public agencies, and communities. This resource promotes inclusive and conscious practices in welcoming migrants, encouraging awareness, empathy, and institutional change. It is also designed to offer public bodies tools to detect training needs based on the cultural competence action plan, as well as to identify improvements in their level of attention to diversity.
For Whom?
The platform is designed for a wide range of stakeholders, including:
- Migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers
- Educators and educational institutions
- NGOs and volunteers
- Public bodies and local communities
Whether you’re working directly with migrant populations or simply wish to better understand and support inclusion in your community, the PIPE Platform offers valuable tools to help you make a difference.
We are currently in the process of uploading the platform with all completed PIPE deliverables. At present, we have the Guide for Teaching the National Language for Migrants available in all six project languages: English, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Danish, and German. We will soon publish the Cultural Training for Professionals as well.
