From October 8 to 10, 2025, MAG – UNINETTUNO took part in the I-HE 2025 – Innovation in Higher Education conference held in Hagen, Germany, presenting the PIPE – Programme of Inclusion for Migrant People at risk of social Exclusion project.
The presentation, entitled “Empowering Migrants through Education: The PIPE Project’s Approach to Social Inclusion”, was delivered by Dario Assante on behalf of MAG – UNINETTUNO.
During his talk, Professor Assante illustrated how MAG – UNINETTUNO, as a partner in the Erasmus+ co-funded PIPE Project, promotes social inclusion and the empowerment of migrants through education and the development of transversal skills. The project’s “circular” model—based on mentorship between well-integrated migrants and newcomers—was presented as an innovative approach fostering autonomy and active participation among beneficiaries.
Among the main results presented by MAG – UNINETTUNO were:
- The Toolbox for Professionals, a multilingual platform with practical resources on language, culture, and diversity;
- The Guide for Teaching the National Language to Migrants, offering flexible and participatory teaching methodologies;
- The Guide and Action Plan for Cultural Training for Professionals, providing operational tools, case studies, and templates to strengthen intercultural competences.
The PIPE consortium, coordinated by EVM (Spain), brings together universities and organizations from six European countries — including Institut für Roma (Germany), Aalborg University (Denmark), Universidad La Laguna (Spain), Hellenic Mediterranean University (Greece), and MAG – UNINETTUNO (Italy) — with the shared goal of building more inclusive communities through digital education and international cooperation.
During the conference, the University also presented the initiatives developed by the Institution for migrants and refugees, such as University for Refugees, a global multilingual platform recognized by the United Nations for its contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4 and 10).
The presentation concluded by reaffirming MAG – UNINETTUNO’s commitment to promoting inclusive and accessible education, and by emphasizing the importance of transforming migrants from passive recipients into active agents of change, through digital innovation and transnational collaboration for a more equitable and sustainable Europe.
