PIPE Project Launched to Promote Migrant Inclusion Across Europe
In the framework of the Erasmus+ programme, the PIPE (Programme of Inclusion for Migrant People at risk of social Exclusion) project has officially launched, with a mission to support migrant integration and foster social cohesion in Europe. From November 2023 and over 36 months, PIPE will address social inclusion challenges faced by migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers.
At its core, PIPE envisions a more inclusive and equitable Europe where everyone—regardless of their background—can participate fully in society. The project seeks to reduce the barriers migrants face and foster a sense of belonging and empowerment, creating more cohesive communities. This vision extends beyond simply addressing immediate needs; PIPE aims to equip migrants with the skills necessary for long-term integration, personal development, and active participation in their new environments.
PIPE is designed to support those at the highest risk of social exclusion: migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. Recognizing the unique challenges they face, the project will offer tailored learning programs, vocational training, and mentorship opportunities to help them integrate into their host communities. Beyond migrants themselves, the project also engages local authorities, educators, and social workers—ensuring they are better equipped to foster migrant inclusion and cultural understanding.
Key Objectives
- Empower migrants through education and skills training that enhance their employability and integration prospects.
- Build intercultural awareness and promote mutual understanding between migrants and local communities, helping to break down prejudices.
- Establish a sustainable mentorship network, enabling migrants who have already successfully integrated to support new arrivals.
- Develop innovative tools and training resources, including a mobile app and digital learning platforms, to provide easily accessible support.
- Foster cooperation among European countries, enabling them to share best practices and knowledge in migrant inclusion.
PIPE is the result of a strong collaboration between six organizations from across Europe, each bringing their unique expertise to the table. Led by EVM GROUP (Spain), the project partners include institutions from Germany, Denmark, Greece, and Italy, combining knowledge from fields such as adult education, social inclusion, and digital innovation. Together, this partnership aims to create scalable and impactful solutions for migrant inclusion, with the long-term goal of building a transnational network of support for migrants and those working with them.
PIPE is committed to making a tangible difference, not just for migrants, but for European society as a whole. By focusing on education, training, and mentorship, the project will help build more inclusive, resilient communities that embrace diversity and ensure opportunities for all.
